Dyson has finally unveiled its first-ever audio-only headphones – the Dyson OnTrac headphones – in India. Initially launched globally in July 2024, the new premium headphones by Dyson promise to offer up to 55 hours of playback, with best-in-class noise cancellation and over 2,000 customisable colour combinations for outer caps and ear cushions. Dyson says that each ear cushions– which are customisable – of its Ontrac headphones is designed to provide users with high-quality headphones and more personalisation options.
Talking about the launch, Jake Dyson, Dyson’s Chief Engineer, said, “The Dyson OnTrac headphones deliver best-in-class ANC, exceptional sound quality, and all-day comfort. We’ve also invested significantly in making the Dyson OnTrac a customisable product that complements the rich and diverse personal styles and the iconic music culture of people in India. These headphones embody Dyson’s audio engineering mission to preserve the integrity of the artist’s sound wave, free from interference.”
The Dyson OnTrac headphones are priced at Rs 44,900 in India. The headphones are now available for purchase through Dyson’s official website, Dyson.in. Interested users can check out and experience the new headphones at Dyson demo stores across the country.
Dyson says that its new OnTrac headphones are designed with advanced noise cancellation technology and focus on delivering high-quality sound and comfort. The headphones also feature an active noise cancellation (ANC) algorithm using eight microphones to sample external sound 384,000 times per second, reducing up to 40dB of unwanted noise. Additionally, their internal geometry and materials enhance the acoustic seal, improving sound isolation for a more focused listening experience.
In terms of audio performance, the Dyson OnTrac features 40mm neodymium drivers capable of reproducing frequencies from 6 Hz to 21,000 Hz. According to Dyson, the speaker housing is tilted 13 degrees toward the ear, helping to deliver a more direct audio experience.
As for the battery life, the Dyson OnTrac headphones promise up to 55 hours of use, even with ANC activated. Comfort is prioritised with soft microfiber ear cushions and balanced weight distribution achieved through multi-pivot gimbal arms and the strategic positioning of the battery in the headband.
One of the main highlights of the Dyson OnTrac is their customisable design, offering over 2,000 combinations of outer caps and ear cushions. In addition, the MyDyson app supports real-time sound tracking and EQ adjustments, along with features like Head Detect, which automatically pauses audio when the headphones are removed. These features are said to make the Dyson OnTrac headphones adaptable to different listening environments and user preferences while maintaining a simple, functional design.
